‘Dream Of Pops’ With King of Pops’ New Game For iPhone

King of Pops

Okay, so King of Pops’ new game “Dream of Pops” is just an excuse to have an update on all things pops. But the game, available for free in the app store, is a reflection of how far King of Pops has come from a summer project.

They now have over 100 associated clubs and activities, which includes trivia night, a running club and their very popular yoga on the BeltLine.

“We [are] doing quite a few things, and some of the stuff is kind of random,” Carse said. “We really just encourage our staff, if they have an idea, and they want to do something, to just do it because there’s not that much to lose.”

Their staff now exceeds 100 people, including their vendors and full-time staff members.

One of King of Pops’ bigger projects in recent years is acquiring a farm, called “King of Crops.”

“We’ve had a bunch of blackberries, muscadine, blueberry infrastructure put in. We grow strawberries. We grow a lot of vegetables as well,” said Carse.

In addition to growing for their pops, they also sell their produce at farmers markets and have a CSA program.

“We’ll never be able to get all of our produce from our own farm, but it is something we’re very proud of,” he said.

The pop flavors reflect what produce is available each season. For instance, while the summer calls for peach pops, the failing crop means there will be far fewer available. But, as Fourth of July approaches, King of Pops will be bringing back their Patriot Pop, a double-layered pop with strawberry and lime with whole blueberries.

For “Dream of Pops,” Carse promises a free pop to anyone who reaches 10,000 points. He gave a tutorial of the game to Reitzes in the interview above.
