Facts & Acts: Uncovering Democracy's In-between

Thursday, August 8 @ 9:00 am - 10:30 am

Community organizers: They work with civic groups, media, nonprofits, and Philanthropy yet are often overlooked as the vital thread that weaves communities together. These organizers work the “in-betweens” of elections to sustain a culture of participation and accountability, fostering a more vibrant and responsive democracy that leads to more involved and informed communities and a stronger sense of belonging.

Join us on Thursday, August 8, for an expert panel discussion facilitated by Rahul Bali, WABE NEWS politics reporter and host of Plugged In: A WABE Politics Podcast, as we delve into the in-betweens of community and explore our role as community members in addressing these challenges.

Panelists include:

  • Kamau Franklin, Founder, Community Movement Builders
  • Margaret Huang, President & CEO, Southern Poverty Law Center
  • Rohit Malhotra, Founder and Executive Director, Center for Civic Innovation
