“Fast Forward” Traces 100 Years of Groundbreaking Art

The past hundred years have brought a seismic shift in the American Art World. From 1913 until today, artists like Picasso, Dali, and Lichtenstein have changed the way Americans perceived visual art and its place in society.

The High Museum’s major new exhibit—a fourth in conjunction with New York’s Museum of Modern Art—showcases this groundbreaking century. “Fast Forward: Modern Moments: 1913-2013” features more than 100 major works on-loan from MoMa.

WABE’s Lois Reitzes sat down with the directors of both museums—the High’s Michael Shapiro and MoMa’s Glenn Lowry. She began the conversation by asking the Michael Shapiro how they chose which works to exhibit.
