Festive cheer fills the air with Atlanta's holiday concerts

There are many concerts around Atlanta each holiday season, and the “City Lights” gathered a list of a few performances this month.

For 17 years, Jeffrey Bützer and T.T. Mahony have performed A Charlie Brown Christmas. The jazz combo is performing Vince Guaraldi’s classic soundtrack to “A Charlie Brown Christmas” at multiple venues throughout the month of December.



  • Dec. 8 – Waller’s Coffee shop in Decatur
  • Dec. 11- The Red Clay Theatre
  • Dec. 16 – Madlife in Woodstock
  • Dec. 19-21 – The Earl

The 13th annual “Holiday Hootenanny” is Dec. 22 at the Variety Playhouse. This concert pays homage to the late Col. Bruce Hampton with performances by local musicians, with some out-of-towners. All proceeds benefit Atlanta’s Habitat for Humanity.

Atlanta Music Project has several holiday concerts:

  • Dec. 6 – The After School Orchestras will perform at the Atlanta Music Project Center for Performance & Education.
  • Dec. 7 – The AMP Youth Choirs perform at First Baptist Church East Point.
  • Dec. 14 – The AMP Preparatory School performs at Jean Childs Young Middle School; AMP Youth Orchestra performs at Glenn Memorial United Methodist Church.
