Furman Bisher

Furman Bisher is a sports columnist for The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, and the author of several books. Bisher’s claim to fame happened in 1949, when he landed the only interview ever granted by Shoeless Joe Jackson during the 1919 Black Sox scandal. In 1961, Time magazine named him as one of the nation’s five best columnists. He has written about the Masters Tournament in Augusta, every Kentucky Derby since 1950 and every Super Bowl but the first. An alum of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Bisher splits his time between Atlanta and St. Simons Island with his wife, Lynda.
