Gas Prices Up? and Down?

Atlanta is one of the few places where gas prices have risen in the last week, bucking the trend of decreasing fuel costs.

According to Gas Buddy’s Patrick DeHaan, the average price is now $.61 a gallon, three cents more than last  week.  But the trend, he says, appears to be heading back down. What happened, says DeHaan, is as prices began to fall, “they started to drop quicker than wholesale prices were declining.  Then mid last week, prices ticked upward the last few days and that left stations started to kick prices upward. But wholesale prices have resumed decline and I expect Atlanta and Georgia will resume their decline as well.”

Overall, prices have dropped about 15-cents  a gallon over the past month.
