Georgia Looks To Recovery After Devastating Storms

Georgia is cleaning up after storms tore through the southern part of the state this weekend, killing a reported 15 people. 

The National Weather Service said 39 possible tornadoes were reported over the weekend, according to the Associated Press. The Red Cross has deployed teams to help those affected. 

Gov. Nathan Deal declared a state of emergency in 16 Georgia counties: Atkinson, Baker, Berrien, Brooks, Calhoun, Clay, Colquitt, Cook, Crisp, Dougherty, Lowndes, Mitchell, Thomas, Turner, Wilcox and Worth.



He said he expects FEMA to act fast on the state’s request for help, and he plans to visit the affected areas on Wednesday.
