Construction is expected to start in winter. The Goat Farm would temporarily close during construction. The hope is to reopen in spring 2022.

The Goat Farm Arts Center on Wednesday released the first images of an ambitious redevelopment planned for the artist community in West Midtown.

Atlanta Business Chronicle in March was first to report new ideas were emerging for the complex. At that time, an affiliate of TriBridge Residential submitted plans to the Development Authority of Fulton County for a $55 million project that would include apartments (including affordable units) and new artist studios.

The Goat Farm now says it envisions a $250 million redevelopment, comprising half a million square feet.

The plan includes a new home for the Museum of Contemporary Art of Georgia. (Courtesy of The Goat Farm)
