Next time you’re scrolling through movie options for streaming, you might consider a new suspense thriller made entirely by a student team from Georgia State University.

“Rejuvenation” stars GSU student Imani Okwuosa as Trinity, a collegiate track star dependent on powerful painkillers, exploring an experimental rehabilitation program.

The filmmaking project took shape under the guidance of GSU Artist-in-Residence Tom Luse, who served as executive producer of “The Walking Dead,” among other impressive credits.

“Rejuvenation” is available to stream on Tubi and Amazon Video on Demand. Executive producer Tom Luse and starring actor/GSU student Imani Okwuosa, the two creatives joined “City Lights” host Lois Reitzes to discuss GSU’s filmmaking programs and the process of creating the project.

The film was created almost entirely by the students, says Luse.

“We had students that composed the music, we had students record the sound and mixed all the sound effects, we had students who edited, we had students who shot and lit the movie,” he said.

“The people who created the look of the film in terms of the sets… they were working with nothing and they were geniuses. These were very, very talented and wonderful people who worked very hard.” The result is a film that will stream on major streaming services and give them serious credit for building towards a real future in filmmaking.
