Hartsfield-Jackson Operations Normal Despite Winter Storm in Northeast

More than 2,200 airline flights were canceled nationwide Thursday due to the winter storm in the Midwest and Northeast.

But Hartsfield-Jackson spokesman Reese McCranie says, at least for now, operations are normal at Atlanta’s airport. “Unless you’re traveling to those areas that are impacted by inclement weather, then, yes, you may have some delays, but we’re encouraging all people to check with their airlines directly.”

McCranie says airport officials will continue to monitor weather conditions.

Delta, AirTran and other air carriers are currently offering flight changes with no fee for passengers planning to travel to some destinations in the Northeast today or tomorrow.
