In 1975, WSB-TV hired Monica Jones Kaufman Pearson to fill an open position on the evening news broadcast team. That hiring made Pearson WSB-TV’s first Black woman anchor, cementing her status in Atlanta and TV history.

Her tenure at WSB-TV has redefined television news for multiple generations — inspiring audiences, breaking news and covering some of the biggest stories in America over the last several decades.

Pearson is also a radio legend, hosting on KISS 104.1 FM since 2012, and she’s continued to contribute her skills as an interviewer and host to a long list of local and statewide news platforms.

Now, the Atlanta Journal-Constituion welcomes the iconic broadcaster as host of “The Monica Pearson Show,” her new interview show streaming on AJC.com, where she speaks with some of the biggest movers and shakers in Atlanta and beyond.

Pearson joins Lois Reitzes on “City Lights” to talk more about her new program and extraordinary career.
