Challenge the Stats, an Atlanta-based talent advocacy organization for BIPOC artists and musicians, brings another vibrant night of music in celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month.

The Latin Jazz Concert features Cuban singer, multi-instrumentalist and educator Jessy Díaz again this year to share classics from the traditions of mambo, cha-cha, danzón, bolero and more.

Díaz and Challenge the Stats founder Angelica Hairston recently joined Lois Reitzes on City Lights to discuss the show.

Saturday’s show will take a deep dive into Afro-Cuban musical styles with Díaz at the helm, leading a band and speaking between each song performance to walk the audience through Cuba’s rich history with jazz. The entire concert will be free and open to the public on Sept. 14 at East Point East Point City Annex.
