Now in its second week, “The Boom” gives listeners an inside look at Atlanta’s thriving film industry from award-winning entertainment and culture reporter Jewel Wicker.

In a conversation with “All Things Considered,” Wicker said she’s been interested in the subject for a long time and hopes the podcast will appeal to industry insiders and fans alike.

The first episode was focused on the ongoing labor dispute and included interviews with Eric Goins and Mike Pniewski of SAG-AFTRA.

Episode two delves into the Bronze Lens Film Festival, a local indie festival featuring works by and for people of color.

Wicker said listeners can look forward to interviews with local filmmakers, big names, and people in lesser-known film jobs to highlight this growing part of Atlanta culture.
