Journalist Vincent Bevins' new book explores why some global protests have not produced structural reform
Vincent Bevins, an award-winning journalist and writer, has set out to understand the history of protests that have happened globally, across 12 countries, from 2010 to 2020.
Bevins’ new book, “If We Burn: The Mass Protest Decade and the Missing Revolution,” explores why decades-long protests have not produced a revolution or any significant structural reform.
The book particularly examines protests that have threatened to collapse governments in several countries, including Egypt, Tunisia and Ukraine.
On Tuesday’s edition of “Closer Look,” Bevins talks with show host Rose Scott about his new book and his process of putting it together.
