“Knock, knock. Who’s there?” is a timeless exchange. An invitation of infinite possibility. The joke inspired an award-winning children’s storybook called “Interrupting Chicken” by David Ezra Stein.

Now, the book has been adapted as a delightful animated series on Apple TV + about the adventures of Piper the Chicken. The show is celebrating the recent launch of Season 2.

In this interview, executive producers Ron Holsey and Loris Kramer join “City Lights” host Lois Reitzes to speak more about the series “Interrupting Chicken.”

“We took a little bit of inspiration from the sort of flat style of those [Little] Golden Books from the ’50s and that sort of informed the story world, whereas the real world is a little more 3D and flushed out,” Kramer said.

Season 2 of “Interrupting Chicken” is out now and streaming on Apple TV+. More information is available here.
