The Lockheed Martin C-130J “Super” Hercules is one of the planes manufactured at Lockheed Martin in Marietta, Ga. According to Wayne Roberts, Chief Test Pilot for Airlift Programs, one of the distinguishing marks on the Super Hercules aircraft is a black spot at the base of the plane’s tail. The plane that WABE visited was the 2374th Hercules built in Marietta and is bound for India. According to Roberts, a good day for a test pilot is any clear day with good weather that he gets to fly.
