The Fairy Festival and Conference is a free event on Nov. 18 at the Central Library downtown. The gathering will be hosted by the magical author and storyteller from Atlanta, Mama Koku, also known as Donna Kokumo Buie.

In this interview, Mama Koku joined “City Lights” host Lois Reitzes to talk about the special events and her new book, “Little Black Fairy.”

“There are African goblins in folklore. There are creatures with magic who do all sorts of things. All cultures have this as part of their story collective,” Mama Koku says.
