Marietta Daily Journal Publisher Otis Brumby, Jr. Remembered

Otis Brumby, Jr., the longtime publisher of the Marietta Daily Journal, died on Saturday, September 8th.  Brumby was 72 years old, and had battled prostate cancer for the last two years.  He was a major force in metro Atlanta journalism, politics, and civic affairs, with an influence that extended well beyond Marietta.  Former Republican State Chairman Chuck Clay is also a former Marietta State Senator.  He considered Brumby a close friend and mentor.  But even he occasionally found himself on the other side of a Brumby critique.  Clay remembered his friend in a talk with WABE’s Denis O’Hayer.  (For broadcast version, click the top button; for expanded version, click the bottom button.)
