Getting around on MARTA this weekend could take some extra patience, as the transit agency works on its rail lines. Below is a press release from the transit agency outlining the delays. Good luck!
MARTA to Modify Weekend Rail Service to Accommodate Scheduled Track Work
Customers are Advised to Allow Extra Time for Their Trip
In order to accommodate scheduled track work, MARTA will modify rail service on Saturday, April 13 and Sunday, April 14, 2013, and customers traveling this weekend are advised to please allow extra time for their trip. We apologize for any inconvenience and thank our customers for their patience as we conduct this work to keep our system operating at its highest level.
Red Line trains will only operate between North Springs and Lindbergh; therefore, service between Lindbergh and Airport Stations will be running at a reduced frequency – every 20 minutes. Customers traveling from North Springs will need to transfer to a Gold Line train at Lindbergh Station in order to continue southbound. Customers traveling northbound from the Airport will need to board a Gold Line train and transfer to a Red Line train at Lindbergh Station to continue to North Springs Station.
At East Point and Buckhead Stations, all trains will board on the northbound platforms.
On Saturday only, Blue and Green Line trains will operate on a speical 24-minute singletracking schedule. Green Line trains will shuttle from Bankhead to Ashby. At Vine City, Ashby, and Bankhead Stations, all trains will board on the westbound platforms.
MARTA is conducting regularly scheduled track work as part of its Capital Improvement Program to rebuild and upgrade the rail system to enhance the overall safety and reliability of the service.
