“We have established these bus lines to mimic the rail lines, so it will stop at or near every rail station on its way from either Bankhead to Five Points or Hamilton E. Holmes to Five Points,” said MARTA communications director Stephany Fisher.

Fisher told WABE’s “Closer Look” that they’ll closely monitor the tunnels and stations for damage.

“They have seismic activity sensors that are going to be placed down there. They’re going to be walking the tunnels before and after the implosion and doing safety checks on every level, from the tracks to the tunnel itself to the escalators and elevators in the Vine City and Dome stations,” she said.

Rail service will start again once MARTA and other agencies have done those safety checks.

The implosion is scheduled for 7:30 a.m. Monday.
