MARTA Seeks Partners In Master Planning Process For New TOD Projects

MARTA is moving forward with three new transit-oriented developments along the East-West line.

On Thursday, the transit agency’s board of directors approved a resolution to seek architecture and engineering partners to work with MARTA in creating a master plan for the projects at H.E. Holmes, Kensington and Indian Creek stations.

A master plan “sets the stage,” said Debbie Frank, MARTA’s director of transit-oriented development (TOD). “It will support the direction for rezoning that’s needed at all three of the stations. It will allow for the opportunity to engage the community.”

MARTA adopted transit-oriented development guidelines in 2010 and currently has 18 projects in some phase of planning or construction.
