Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens wants to build or preserve 20,000 affordable housing units throughout the city by 2030. With just about a year and a half left in his four-year term, “Closer Look” host Rose Scott talks with Dickens about his administration’s progress.
During the discussion, Dickens talked about initiatives to address housing affordability, including a partnership between the Atlanta Urban Development Corporation, Atlanta Housing, and the City of Atlanta to create more affordable housing units. He also spoke candidly about funding and construction challenges.
In addition, Dickens shared details about plans for redevelopment projects, including the Mall West End and his support for light rail on the Atlanta Beltline.
