Metro Atlanta Sees Slight Rise in Gas Prices
Gas prices in metro Atlanta have been inching upward.
According to AAA, the average cost for a gallon of regular, unleaded is $3.53.
That’s up two-cents from last month, but it’s 22-cents higher from this time last year.
And, prices at the pump may increase a little more noticeably this summer.
“Although the civil war in Syria is not new news, the fact that President Obama has announced that we will provide Syrian rebels with arms has led to speculation that the increased tensions and violence could spread to neighboring countries like Iraq and Iran, and disrupt supplies,” says AAA spokeswoman Jessica Brady.
The statewide average for a gallon is $3.47, which is a two-cent bump from last month.
The national average is $3.61.
