Morehouse Glee Club

The roots of the Morehouse College Glee Club go back to the early 1900’s. In the Fall semester of 1987, David E. Morrow, assumed directorship of the Glee Club. David Morrow was a scholar at Morehouse College, graduating Phi Beta Kappa in 1980 as Valedictorian. He earned his Master’s degree at the University of Michigan in 1981 and then returned to his alma mater as a part of the music faculty and as Assistant Director of the Glee Club.

Betelehemu “Bethlehem” is a Nigerian Christmas carol written by Michael Babatunde Olatunji and arranged by Wendell Whalum.

English Lyrics: We are glad that we have a Father to trust. We are glad that we have a Father to rely upon Where was Jesus born? Where was He born? Bethlehem, the city of wonder.
