With diversity at the center of its mission, the Museum of Diversity has set out to share the rich, complete history of African people within the community.

The museum centers duty, inclusion, vision, equity, respect, solidarity, identity, tenacity and youth as the main pillars of its objective, and has conducted several outreach efforts involving lower-school and university initiatives.

As the museum works toward creating a brick and mortar location, virtual reality has become an invaluable vehicle for its community storytelling.

President and CEO Kuku Richards joined “Closer Look” on Tuesday to share her recognition of technology’s growing integration into the mainstream as a resource for education and for representation within the Black community.

Troy Richards, Chairman and CEO of MoD, also highlighted the museum’s mission to educate and challenge the community, while providing them with messages they can connect with.
