New Federal Sentencing Policy: A Look at its Effect in Georgia with Atlanta’s U.S. Attorney

On Monday, August 12, 2013, U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder announced a change in the sentencing policy for people who commit Federal drug crimes.

Holder wants Federal prosecutors to move away from mandatory minimum sentences in the cases of non-violent drug offenders, and in those case, to move toward alternative approaches, like house arrest and treatment programs.
