IKEA is opening a new “plan and order point” location with furniture pick-up on Aug. 28 in Alpharetta, Georgia.

The new location will open in Mansell Crossing Shopping Center at 7681 North Point Pkwy., according to a Wednesday press release.

At plan and order point stores, customers can meet with an IKEA specialist for free to consult for their furnishing needs, such as kitchen, bedroom and living room design. Customers cannot buy and take home products on the same day, but they can pick up purchased items at a later date at the pick-up location at the same site or order items for delivery.

The grand opening of the store will take place at 10 a.m. on Aug. 28, and attendees will be able to take tours of the location, participate in giveaways and sample food.

“We are excited to give Atlanta metro area consumers a new way to shop IKEA,” said CEO and Chief Sustainability Officer of IKEA U.S. Javier Quiñones in the press release. “The new Alpharetta location highlights our efforts to bring IKEA closer to the many people and make it easier and more affordable to access our home furnishing products and solutions.”

The Alpharetta location will be the second IKEA store in metro Atlanta. The first is in Midtown near Atlantic Station and the Georgia Institute of Technology.

“The new Alpharetta location is just one of the many new ways we are growing our business,” said IKEA U.S. Market Manager Brandon Lomax in the release. “We are thrilled to be opening our doors at IKEA Alpharetta soon, and can’t wait to welcome residents of the Atlanta area to this new IKEA experience.”
