Heidi Beirich, the chief strategy officer of the Global Project Against Hate and Extremism, says you cannot look at white supremacy through only a domestic perspective.

Mark Greenblatt, the senior national investigative correspondent for the Scripps Washington Bureau, led the reporting team that sought to investigate and understand the global connections between white supremacists following the insurrection at the U.S. Capitol in 2020.

On Tuesday’s edition of “Closer Look,” Beirich and Greenblatt talked with program host Rose Scott about “Verified: The Next Threat,” a new podcast that explores how extremists in Russia, Europe and the United States are recruiting people to advocate for white power.
