Thirty years ago, a play premiered that brought an intimate glimpse into a unique little world created every day in America – high school friends on the basketball court.
The play is “That Serious He-Man Ball,” by Alonzo D. Lamont Jr., and it explores the young men’s journey into adulthood, with all the aches and pains along the way. A new production of “That Serious He-Man Ball” is on stage at Kenny Leon’s True Colors Theatre, Sept. 19 through Oct. 15, directed by Eric J. Little.
In this interview, Eric joins “City Lights” host Lois Reitzes to talk about this Atlanta classic and the new version hitting the court this season.
“Certain things have changed in our relationships, and then 15, 20 years those relationships and those dynamics are still kind of the same,” says Little.
