New report identifies economic challenges and provides solutions for building generational Black wealth in Atlanta

A new report identifies various economic and social gaps between white and Black households. And it also offers more than a dozen solutions to help build Black wealth.

The report produced by the Atlanta Wealth Building Initiative is titled Building A Beloved Economy: A Baseline and Framework for Building Black Wealth in Atlanta.

On Nov. 1, at the National Center for Civil and Human Rights, “Closer Look” show host Rose Scott moderated a panel discussion followed by a presentation of the report.



The panelists included:

Hope Wollensack, the founding executive director of the Georgia Resilience & Opportunity Fund (The GRO Fund)

Tamieka Atkins, the executive director of ProGeorgia

Donte Miller, the co-founder and president of the Village Micro Fund 

Dontá Council, a principal adviser on the Community and Economic Development (CED) team at the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta
