About 150 people packed the Board’s community meeting. For almost 2 hours people blasted Superintendent Davis’ plan to remove the principals before next school year. Those upset included Therrell High School student Donovan Harris.
“The removal of our principals are in my opinion, unethical, unreasonable, and irresponsible on behalf of the upper management of the Atlanta Public School system. When you remove principals by this method, you leave schools, teachers, and students chaotic and in an uproar”.
An official list hasn’t been made public. But parents from Grady, Therrell, Mays, and Washington high schools as well as Morris Brandon Elementary School all complained about the impending loss of their principals.
Neither the board nor Superintendent Davis responded to any of the comments, though Davis did say there would be more meetings on the subject later this week.
