Pediatrician alerts parents about food safety at summer camp

According to the latest data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, one in four children in the U.S. have a seasonal allergy, eczema or a food allergy.

This summer as children prepare to attend summer camp, Dr. Priyanka Vakati with the Food Allergy Institute is urging parents to take necessary precautions.

On Monday’s edition of “Closer Look,” show host Rose Scott talks with Dr. Vakati about what parents should know about protecting their children from food allergens. She also discusses the correlation between food allergies and how food is produced in the U.S.
