Criminal Justice Reporter
I cover criminal justice for WABE, meaning you can often find me reading through court documents, sitting in a courtroom, or covering a protest or press conference. I follow that by speaking with people directly impacted by an incident or policy to help explain the big picture. My job is not to just recount the biggest crime story of the day. I also take great pride in being a Spanish-speaker, because it allows me to connect and tell stories of the Latino community in Georgia.
I have always wanted to be a journalist. I began my career as a general assignment reporter for The Northeast Georgian and then made my way down to my hometown newspaper to cover crime and courts for The Gwinnett Daily Post. Before joining WABE, I was covering local government for Appen Media. I joined the station in 2022. I have been recognized by the Georgia Press Association for best investigative reporting, news photograph, breaking news writing and business writing.
