I see it as telling the story of Atlanta’s business community. While yes, I do cover many Atlanta companies like Coca-Cola and UPS, I also cover entrepreneurs with disabilities, Black restaurant owners, and Hispanic and Latino entrepreneurs. From sports business to workforce development there is always something to cover in one of the most vibrant economies in the country.
After graduating from Saint Michael’s College in Colchester, Vermont, I became Vermont Public’s first-ever News Fellow. It was a new position to tell stories about diverse communities and learn about the public radio world. During my two years with the company, I reported local stories, created sound-rich features, and hosted “Weekend Edition” every Sunday. I was awarded a national and regional Edward R. Murrow Award for my reporting on a 9/11 remembrance project. Since joining WABE in April 2023, I have enjoyed learning and reporting on the business community and economic developments that drive Atlanta.
