Atlanta artist Peter Ferrari is known for his use of vivid colors, dynamic compositions, and his abstract expressionist style. He is the founder of the annual “Forward Warrior” mural painting event in Cabbagetown, and his work has achieved iconic status in our city and beyond.
His new solo exhibition, “Covalent,” is on view at ABV Gallery through June 3. Regarding his exhibit, he said, “With this show, I’m always balancing aesthetics with concept. And for this one, I went all for aesthetics. Like, I want lots of color, I want lots of pattern. I want something that someone is just going to be transfixed by and take time and enjoy staring at it.” Ferrari spoke with “City Lights” senior producer Kim Drobes via Zoom about his artistic journey.
