PHOTOS: New Midtown MARTA Station Mural Showcases Diversity
Midtown Alliance and MARTA partnered to bring the “Confluence: Burst Forth with a Terrific Noise” mural to the Midtown MARTA station.

Wild, eye-catching art now brightens up the walls of Midtown’s MARTA Station on Peachtree Place.
The mural, “Confluence: Burst Forth with A Terrific Noise,” created by Atlanta based artist Andrew Catanese was unveiled on July 23 to the public.
MARTA and Midtown Alliance teamed up to bring the project to the station as a part of MARTA’s Artbound initiative and Midtown Alliance’s Public Art & Placemaking Program.
The concept behind the mural is to reflect Midtown Atlanta’s diversity in the artwork. This is shown by the wide array of colorful animals throughout the expansive piece. Local plants, such as dogwoods and magnolias, can also be spotted in the mural.
New seating and live music were also planned for the plaza.
