Playwright Janece Shaffer on ‘The Geller Girls’

Janece Shaffer is an award-winning Atlanta playwright whose works include Broke, Bluish and Managing Maxine. Her latest play, The Geller Girls, is a look at the 1895 Cotton States and International Exposition and its impact on one fictional Atlanta family. 

WABE’s Lois Reitzes recently sat down to talk with Janece Shaffer about the the exposition, the play, and it’s characters. Janece  began their conversation by explaining the unusual origin of The Geller Girls.Broadcast version of the story that aired on January 15th, 2014.
