Former President Donald Trump faces multiple indictments from different jurisdictions, and more charges are expected soon from Fulton District Attorney Fani Willis based on her investigation into efforts to overturn Georgia’s 2020 election results.

Meanwhile, Donald Trump is the expected front-runner in the Republican primary race, which will make for an unprecedented situation.

Nathan Price is an associate professor of political science and international affairs at the University of North Georgia.

Price recently spoke with WABE’s Jim Burress about how he thinks events might unfold given the circumstances.

“The ‘never-Trump’ Republicans are really hoping that one candidate can emerge as a person who can unify that vote and then have enough to overtake Trump in some of these primaries,” said Price, “Even keeping in mind he has this very solid base.”

Price says regardless, the repeated challenges to the country’s justice system are causing people to lose trust in the process.
