The 2024 presidential election is 129 days away. President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump took center stage Thursday night in Atlanta for the first 2024 debate between the presumptive nominees.

In the 90-minute matchup, both Biden and Trump laid out their vision for the next four years and attacked each other over their policies and leadership. Following their exchange, there are now heightened concerns about Biden’s vitality for a second term and Trump’s false claims throughout the debate.

On Friday’s edition of “Closer Look,” politics contributor, strategist and analyst Fred Hicks, former Wisconsin Congressman Scott Klug and GSU politics and policy professor Tammy Greer provide insight and analysis of the debate. They also discuss what’s next for the Republican and Democratic parties in terms of national campaign strategies.
