Promoter Says Music Midtown Is Ready

The gates are open and people are pouring into Piedmont Park.

Music Midtown is underway.

It’s all good says Peter Conlon.

“Everything’s great, the weather is perfect which is very unusual and which is a great thing for any festival. We’re looking at perfect weather, site looks great and sales are doing well so, it’s come together very well.”

Conlon is president of Live Nation Atlanta that puts on Music Midtown.

Over the weekend artist such as Foo Fighters, rapper T.I, Florence and the Machine and Pearl Jam will take to one of the two stages.

The onslaught of a massive crowd is nothing new for Piedmont Park but there have been concerns about misconduct based on other events.

Conlon says there are security measures in place that will hopefully prevent any of that.

There are some tickets left he says and with every purchase a donation will go the Centers of Hope.

“We should generate well over 3-hundred thousand dollars for the Centers of Hope, the recreation centers. During the summer we were able to raise what I think is a continuing annuity for a very good project.”

A reminder no dogs or coolers are allowed at Music Midtown and since parking will be nearly impossible, Conlon says take MARTA.
