Quarterbacks Crucial For Monday Night Game Between Falcons and Broncos

It is Monday night football and the Atlanta Falcons are hosting the Denver Broncos.

Fans will get a chance to see Denver’s veteran quarterback Peyton Manning and across the field Atlanta’s QB Matt Ryan will be leading the Falcons passing game.

When Peyton Manning entered the NFL, Matt Ryan was 13 years old.

Now, entering his 15th season, Manning is a sure lock for the hall of fame.

Stephen Black is managing editor for Score Atlanta Sports Magazine.  He says Manning is still among the elite quarterbacks.

“Well, he’s one of the most cerebral quarterbacks in the history of the game.   He’s not mobile at all and running the ball is never a threat at all. Somehow he manages to be one of the most consistent quarterbacks ever in terms of constant production. He’s like an offensive coordinator on the field.”

Black sees Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan needing to have a few career-defining moments of his own:

“He still doesn’t have a play-off win but at the same time he’s led the team to the playoffs three out of four years. Now it’s time for him to take that next step and advance deep into the playoffs, have a big game in the post season and maybe lead a crucial drive late in the game to help win a game.”

Matt Ryan will need to connect with receivers Julio Jones and Roddy White to beat the Broncos.

Black adds if the Falcons defense can contain Manning the final score for tonight’s game.

“I think there’s going to be a lot of offense and I think I’m going out on a limb by saying that but I’m picking the Falcons in a close one 34-31.”
