Denis O'Hayer's Interview with Ralph Nader on “A Closer Look”
In 1965, an unknown consumer advocate named Ralph Nader turned the auto industry on its ear with his examination of potentially deadly safety problems with the Chevrolet Corvair.
Nader’s book “Unsafe at Any Speed” sparked the consumer safety movement and the eventual establishment of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. It propelled the consumer advocate into the spotlight. Newsweek even declared him the “Consumer Crusader” in a cover story.
Now, 50 years later, Ralph Nader hasn’t slowed down. He’s still at it, taking on issues from clean energy to safe flooring.
Denis O’Hayer interviewed Nader on a range of issues during a visit to Atlanta this week on “A Closer Look.”
