Reflecting on 50 years of the Atlanta Symphony Youth Orchestra

This year marks the 50^th anniversary of the Atlanta Symphony Youth Orchestra, the city’s ensemble of extraordinary classical instrumentalists ages 13-18.

You may be surprised to know that the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra itself was once a youth ensemble, evolving later into the internationally acclaimed orchestra we know today.

Young musicians who perform with the Atlanta Symphony Youth Orchestra gain access to rare mentorship opportunities with master musicians, and several alumni went on to perform and hold leadership roles in the ASO.
