Chef and author Darius Williams has a new show on ATL PBA called “Just Add Soul.” In 2005, he became very popular for his food blogging, which was a fairly new concept online.

He enjoys teaching viewers how to make easy, delicious recipes. On his Youtube channel, “Darius Cooks,” he takes requests and questions from any of his 136,000+ subscribers for inspiration for new videos.

“The audience that I serve, they don’t have a lot of time or energy. They’re also challenged with saying ‘how can I put something amazing on the table?’ and I feel like I’m able to help them realize that and add value to their lives. It’s not as hard as they may think,” Williams said about his approach to food blogging.

In the first episode of “Just Add Soul” he teaches mother-of-two, Keyosha, how to make fried chicken at home. Williams teaches her the simplicity and satisfaction she could have with cooking it at home versus buying it at Publix. Earlier in the episode, he goes behind the kitchen with Todd Ginsberg, the chef of the Atlanta Jewish deli, General Muir. Ginsberg gives Williams some tips on how the General Muir cooks their savory fried chicken each week.

Williams is also a restaurateur; he owns “Greens and Gravy” in the Westside of Atlanta and “Soul Crab” in College Park. Earlier this year, “Greens and Gravy” was also featured on Guy Fieri’s show “Divers, Drive-ins, and Dives” for its exceptional Southern comfort food.

Williams lives by the motto “Food is Life and Life is Food.” You can see the premiere of “Just Add Soul” this Sunday, June 30 at 7:30 p.m. on ATL PBA.
