One of the most brazen heists in Atlanta’s history happened in October 1970 at an afterparty following Muhammad Ali’s comeback fight. It’s a story told in the true-crime podcast series “Fight Night” that has now been adapted into a television drama series.

“Fight Night: The Million Dollar Heist,” will be available for streaming on Peacock on Sept. 5.

Jeff Keating of Doghouse Pictures, the executive producer for the podcast and streaming series, and Maurice Hobson, a Georgia State University professor and the consulting historian for the podcast, were guests on “Closer Look.” They talked with show host Rose Scott about the series, the heist and the cultural footprint it left on Atlanta’s history.
