Roswell Mayoral Candidate Disqualified From Election
A Roswell mayoral candidate has been ruled ineligible less than two weeks before the election because she doesn’t meet the city’s residency requirement.
According to the Fulton County district attorney, Sandra Sidhom has not lived in Roswell for at least one year prior to the Nov. 4 election.
WXIA-TV reports District Attorney Paul Howard notified Roswell’s city clerk of Wednesday’s ruling in a letter.
Sidhom was one of five people running to replace longtime Mayor Jere Wood, who was abruptly removed from office back in early August after a Fulton County Superior Court judge ruled that Wood had violated the city charter regarding term limits.
Voters will now choose a new mayor from the remaining field of Lori Henry, Donald J. Horton, Lee Jenkins and Michael Litten.
