Santa Dee on celebrating Christmas in the aftermath of the pandemic

Christmas is fast approaching and a local Santa says he’s been working around the clock to make sure spirits are bright.

Santa Dee, aka The Real Black Santa, was a guest on Friday’s edition of “Closer Look.” He told program host Rose Scott that he’s been doing the work of Santa for 22 years and it feels so good to be reunited with kids in person now that COVID restrictions are more relaxed.

“There were a couple of times when Santa had to turn and wipe the tears out of my eyes,” said Santa Dee. During the conversation, Santa talked about overcoming health challenges, the need for more diversity in the Santa industry and revealed items on his Christmas list.
