What Does ‘School Choice’ Mean?

It’s National School Choice Week, and advocates have planned more than a thousand events around Georgia this week to celebrate.
Proponents of school choice say it covers a wide range of options for families, including traditional public schools, charter schools, private schools, magnet schools and home schooling.
Shelby Doyle, communications director for National School Choice Week, spoke with WABE education reporter Martha Dalton about the advantages and challenges of school choice.
