Senate Leaders Announce Deal to End Shutdown, Debt Standoff
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and Minority Leader Mitch McConnell announced that they have negotiated an agreement that, if passed by both houses of Congress and signed by the President, would re-open the government until January 15 and postpone hitting the debt ceiling until February 7.
Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) announced that he will not try to block the deal.
