Reflecting On Their Paths To Victory In Georgia State Senate Races
Two Black women will be among the newcomers to the Georgia General Assembly next year.
In two state Senate races Tuesday:
- The Rev. Kim Jackson, a Democrat, defeated Republican William Freeman for the seat representing District 41.
- Democrat Nikki Merritt defeated Republican incumbent P.K. Martin for the seat representing District 9.
On Thursday’s edition of “Closer Look,” Jackson and Merritt reflect on their paths to victory.
They also talked with host Rose Scott about their plans to transition from campaigning to legislating and their top priorities moving forward.
